Toshiba has updated its Gigabeat MP3 player range with two additional models under the P-Series. Those are the P5S with 512MB of capacity and the P10S players with double space than the P5S have, 1GB. Come in three different colours, these new audio players also offer an enhanced features, including FM radio tuner, new watch capability, 14 hours of battery life, and auto power-off function which is quite handy when you want to listen to the music before you sleep. The P5S and P10S MP3 Players measure 31.9 x 13.2 x 82 mm and weighs 50 grams.

A 2GB MultiMediaCard (MMCmicro) has been developed by Samsung Electronics. It combines four 4Gbit NAND flash devices, thus resulting a fast, small, and high capacity memory card for cell phones. You can use this 2GB memory card with any MMC card slot (adapter required) to store up to 12 hours of mobile video. The speed? It’s 3.5 times faster than any MMCmicro cards on the market today. In example, you can transfer three hours of movie in under two minutes. Quite fast, isn’t it? And if 2GB is too much for you, similar card with smaller capacity (1GB) will be available later this year.

The next generation of the Cube (DAH-1500/1500i) is coming. MobiBLU recently announced the Cube 2, the successor of that world’s smallest portable MP3 player. From the outside, it’s not much different than its big brother, except that now there’s a new cross shaped controller and two color OLED display. It measures 28 x 28 x 28 mm and weighs 18 grams, also not quite different than the first generation of Cube.

SeaGrange presents a CD player that is MP3 compatible and it can encode audio files (64 to 256kbps) from the CD straight onto an SD card or USB key (both can be connected directly onto the device via the SD slot or USB port). The player measures 145×145x43.4mm for 600g, has a battery life of 80 minutes on playback and 60 minutes on recording mode, all on 4 AA batteries.

TEAC has presented the CD-DJ1 today, a CD/MP3 player for DJ’son the go (or at a rave). It’s CD-R/RW compatible and it plays 32 to 192kbps MP3 files. I’m not too knowledgeable on this topic, but it seems to have everything to allow the user to do some mixing. The sound range is set at 20Hz to 20kHz, it’s able to put out 100dB, and the case measures 155×275x60mm for a weight of 1kg.

Another new product from TEAC this week. This one is a HiFi set that comes with a unique retro style. It features a FM radio tuner, CD player, and recorder. You can adjust the rotation speed too (33/45/78rpm). Measures 385 x 410 x 195 mm and weighs 6.15 kg, this CD player has an output power of 2 x 3W.

Median is going to release their newest portable MP3 player product, the M-Cody MX-500 model, before the end of this month. This flash-based audio player device offers an OLED display, FM radio tuner, FM radio recording, voice recorder, and text viewer. It supports both WMA and MP3 audio files, as well as Ogg Vorbis format.
